Day 1- Sat. June 30/18

I packed all the panniers from the duffle bag and I am ready to go. It is already very hot and I am prepared this time unlike the ride in 2011. I have plenty of G2. I have a map to Burlington and I still had to ask two people to help get to where I was going. North shore Blvd and Lakeshore very scenic and the houses are huge. Lots of trees, not feeling the sun I finally hit a Tim Horton`s in Oakville and had breakfast. So far there are bike lanes and traffic is not very heavy. Now Lakeshore takes you directly to Toronto and during the ride I looked at the road sign and it says Erin Mills Parkway. What....I stopped at a gas station and asked if I missed a turn. Three kms. back is the turn right onto Lakeshore. AAAH..back I go.. I have rode through Burlington, Oakville, Missasauga and Port Credit. I am now in Toronto and when I realized I was on the ramp for the Gardiner Exp. I missed another turn. This time it was only yards. The road took to me the edge of Lake Ontario where I met a fine man named Lee Siemon. Lee is a retired marathon runner but stills runs 10 k. He has run in Boston, New York and Detroit, well done. His daughter Chelsea is a U.W.O. graduate in law. Lee told me about the Waterfront trail that I am on and will take me to the other side of Toronto. Thanks Lee. It was a real pleasure meeting you. This trail is great and lots of cyclists in both directions. I had a swim at one of the beaches and the water was very refreshing. I am now at 120kms where I pulled in the same restaurant back in the 09 ride and had dinner. I am camping at Glen Rouge Campground just outside of Pickering.
Today`s ride- 146 kms.
